I was shocked when, at work, I saw that these young men were spending hundreds if not thousands of dollars on all kinds of garbage for their significant others. I plainly asked why a box of chocolates would not be sufficient. They laughed at me and said, "I wish!" To me, any holiday anymore is just an excuse to buy candy (well, any day for that matter), so why not a box of it or hey, just one rose? Who cares! I think as you get older you care less about stuff and just want a nice day. That's it. And maybe the prospect of going to bed early. I think this is a funny post. Last year I got him a chocolate fish and he got me a heart shaped king cake. This year I'm giving him an ice chest filled with beef jerky.
